I've been seeing this all along but it never really bubbled up to my "hey!" level.

None of the planes seem to have any diheadral. That is if you tilt the plane a _tiny_ bit off the vertical, they'll just sit there completely happy, and won't attempt to return to center.

Is this just my imagination? It may be, I play with the mouse, but it seems fairly common to all the planes.

The planes have dihedral.. you can see it if you go to F2 view and orient the plane so it's flying straight at you. The horizontal stabs stick straight out but the wings are angled. The angle does affect the flight model as long as you model the wings flat then angle them when you attach them in OPStudio.

Sideslip is an issue though..

I know that the models have them, but it seems to have much less of an effect than I would suspect. Even tiny rolls off the plain are not returnded to vertical. Is this correct?

Most planes will not return to true vertical after being in a bank. there will always be some variation from true vertical. it is possible that the plane will return to complete vertical after a long time, but there will always be some play... of course trim has control over this as well.... ;}

There is a special version of SDOE that lets you see the lift and drag forces as you fly. You can see the dihedral in action here...

Also I have experimented with very large dihedrals and it has a very large effect on flight model. Excessivly large dihedrals (like 33 degrees plus) can cause the plane to get the shakes though
