I wonder if anyone please could make a Beaufighter. I would like to, only trouble is that I haven't got a 3d designer, and even if I had one, I wouldn't know how to do the flying characteristics and so on.

I agree !

Besides, there's a Beaufighter Sqn in the 'Australia' country pack I'm working on !

If anyone takes up this challenge, drop me a line and I'll do research and stuff for ya.

(I can't 3D model for nuts)

Cheers,

AGAS 5

I'll put it at #4 on the list:

1) Viper (plus space terrain)
2) Raider (the ship, not the person )
3) Gotha Gv.III (I think, the first with the tunnel gun)
4) Beaufighter (the Mk.II perchance?)
5) Gallactica
6) Base Star
7) Hadley Page 400 (the WWI British heavy that they landed at the nearest German airfield one day before the official German 'release' )

Somewhere's in between I plan on developing OpenWorld to work with SDOE. It should just be a re-write on the parser that hippie uses for Extract and Builder.

Whirlwind,

I hear ya! I'm dying for the Battle of Hoth from Empire Strikes Back. I already have a Snowspeeder that I can convert, plus an X-wing, Y-wing, and loads of other cool SW stuff

Heck I even got the snow already with the Rheinland Winter

I just want to take this opportunity to say that Lucifer was the greatest robot ever of any sci-fi movie or TV show.... ever.

Box from Logan's Run was pretty cool too, though.

You know what I was thinking early this morning, about a wacky thing to try? Well since we have springs in DOFs and now we now about the flag waving LOOPING DOFs, I'm going to try to do a quick stick figure person who can just stand in the same spot and do backflips!! I'm very curious to see if this wonderful engine can do it (I bet it can). Cause you see things hopping all over the place when you crash.

Also we may have some cows roaming the pasture soon too

Just saw BG this morning and gotta love those G suits. Lucifer is an opportunist, and who is that centurion that keeps following him around? In his first 2 or 3 appearances, he visited Baltar alone...

I don't have video capture, but today's episode had a nice shot of the Colonial uniform symbol (or was that blue squads symbol?) Also, in the first battle scenes with the rookies, there was a nice long shot of a Cylon symbol on a Raider.

BTW, the Beufighter would look so much better if some one could come up with a workable torpedo...

I thoughgt SDOE was a WWII sim. Yes, I know what possibilities we have with Openplane, but, please, stick to WWI and WWII.

semmern....no one is forcing us to download anything we don't want...or even read about it. If you want to be a real stickler, SDOE is a WWII sim and we shouldn't be spending time on WWI. That would be a great loss. Let's just have fun doing what we want to do.

If you check the old forum, you might see my arguments with kopper over just that same topic, semmern. I think kopper (or someone else) at one point even complained that the Pacific theater shouldn't get any planes to speak of, because 'that is why it is called Screaming Demons Over *Europe*'. What a pointless argument. kopper is just a great guy now.

I agree Jerry. There is nothing set in stone about this sim. The beauty of it lies in the fact that you can build whatever you want, if you have the time to learn how (and the resources). It really should've been called OpenWorld, because it really is. (even more so when water properties get done right, man that'll rock... imagine we are now modeling subs and U-boats!)

So we'll have plenty of WWI, WWII, post WWII, and future type scenarios. I'm up for anything really, with this engine it's all fun.

A sub would be easy if the obWaterPoint makes an appearance - just put some on an gear type deal for a sub and press G to dive and surface. Just set the nose gear to move faster than the tail gear.

BTW, do DOF's cause inertia ?
