There is an excellent thread at combat sim written by a real fighter pilot. Even if it is mostly about Jet sims, it covers a lot of good ideas about padlock. I had a great time to read it http://www.combatsim.com/ubb/Forum31/HTML/001540.html Regards Bakunin IP: Logged |

Great thread.I've only read the first page (so far.) Did they mention SDOE's zooming padlock? That made all the difference in the world to me. [This message has been edited by Mighty (edited 01-31-2000).] IP: Logged |

No, the thread sticks to FA/18 but it's still cool,I particularly liked early on he stated that the avionics in most of the sims he's flown(F4,FA-18)were HARDER to learn than the real ones!!lol! The zooming padlock in this game is great though, call me a wimp or whatever but I fly almost all the time in padlock now when in combat,I just started doing that a couple of months ago, used to just look up,left, right and forward, a throwback to how I learned in AOTP and AOE. mud [This message has been edited by Mudshark (edited 01-31-2000).] IP: Logged |

Huge mount of insight from him and Andy .. I like the points about removing external views as the difficulty level goes up; padlock center of view; invisible in clouds or when your plane is in the way; VID changing with distance; and the custom pit hardwareIP: Logged |
