Well- I have een looking all morning for some new sounds to put in for the engine and come come up with nil. Looking at my books- the engines changed quite a bit as far as I can tell- if anyone has any suggestions as to where we can get good wav files for all these new planes, please share with us. I already have Spoonman searching for a Dauntless sound for me and don't want to bother him again.

Bother me? Nah, if you want to provide me the 'years' they were made, I can find a suitable replacement.

The engines for the E and F were DB601 series while those for the G and K series were DB605 series. I have only heard the DB605 running at an airshow but and the startup and shutdown sequences used in the G-6 are genuine recordings. The enginerun is Meatwater's Spitfire sample.

I have heard most marks of the Merlin engined Spitfires - II through to IX and frankly they are very similar. I would be very suprised if the sound of the various DBs in the 109 was dissimilar through the various marks.

I would suggest you take the sounds from the G-6 and stick them in the E, F and K folders as I do.

I have tried to use real samples as an enginerun.wav file but SDOE distorts them so much that they sound like a lawnmower. engine.

Well- I opened up my CFS files and under the 109 there are like 4 different engine run sounds- so I took two of those sounds that had different rpm's and added them to the two new planes. Sounds are important to me- they are usually the first thing I look for when I get a new plane. Thanks for the help.

Spoon- the F prototype was manufactured in July 1940 and the K was made after October 1944.
