Hey guys, been lookin though everything here, and you are the tops, without you the game would die a sad death.

I just wanted to know, is there a way to place flyable aircraft ontop of the carriers, I have 3 carriers, but trying to place aircraft on them doesn't seem to work, they end up in flight, anyone help me on this.

Oh, one other thing, any other major ship types available to d/l?

Thanks Guys, and keep up the awesome work )

Well- I guess it depends on which carrier and on how many planes you're talking. I placed a single P-38 on the Saratoga just by placing it on top of it in the editor. I haven't tried more than one so I don't know if that works. For the Akagi- you can definitely pit more than one on- but the AI will just taxi them off the edge of the carrier For directions- I believe it was Archy who had a tutorial up when he was making his Pearl Harbor missions- so ask him (he'll probably see this himself anyway)

Saw it...

Well, to get the most planes on a carrier, you will have to do "exact" placement of squadrons by opening up the mission file in a text editor. Then you can adjust the x,y placement of the aircraft relative to the x,y coordinates of the carrier. You should use line astern as the formation, and set mission altitude to 0, heading 0, speed 0, and enroute.
Just take a look at a mission file in a text editor, and play around with xy coord of planes, and launch FS and run mission. You'll get the hang of it.
*note, I never was able to start on carrier with the Saratoga, or Doles New Akagi. I had to use Doles original Akagi.

Hi guys, here is some very helpful info for you.
http://www.parsoft.com/games/FS_INI_Readme.html

This is a readme file for all the INI settings for the Sdemons.ini file. If you go to your main SDOE directory and open up Sdemons.ini in a text editor and add

DisplayCoords=1

you'll then be able to see your coordinates when slewing around with Alt-m (for map) turned on. Enter slew mode by hitting Alt-s, then turn on coords with Alt-m and they'll show up at the bottom left corner of your map window which will be in your monitors upper right corner. Now you can just look at your map and get your EXACT location!!

So go into a mission with whatever carrier you are using, do the above, and get your pen ready. Position yourself whereever you want planes to be parked and right the numbers down. Then open up the particular mission file that has all the airplanes and simply change the coords to reflect your new accurate ones. Now you can easily place several planes "parked" on carriers. Take your pick, hop in, and fly.

Hope this helps.

What timing,

Just got done making some Carrier Battle
Missions for Online Play.
CVbattle_online-2 For head to head
CVbattle_online-4 2 v 2
""""""""""""""" 6 3 v 3
""""""""""""""" 8 4 v 4
""""""""""""""" 10 5 v 5

After alot of experiementation,I choose to use the Saratoga carriers.
Original not the Saratoga 2 or Akagi.
Saratoga 1 seems to take 500 lbs. of well placed bombs to sink.Is long enough to
make landing and take-off easier. And looks more like a WWII CV than the Sar.2

I used the FW190a4 vs the Spit 5,both take off fine with full flaps.(easy on the throttle at first!)and both will land easily enough.

Good balanced play.

190's have a single 500 lb. bomb and 300 lbs of fuel.No waypoints. They line up nicely with
heading either 180 or 360, alt at 300 and no
velocity( 0 ) use astern line up.

Same for spit's except 2 - 250 lb. bombs.

I placed both CV's off an Island with 2 - 37mm Flak's nearby on high ground to help defend.AI (flak) maxed except skill at 1 notch to the right.

Should be a blast with the objective to knock
out the other sides Carrier, and land back on yours.

Any takers to test them out?

Rattler

Thanks for all the help guys, I've built 2 very big CV missions, creating a large dogfight and ground attack, would be great to fly in a multi player I reckon, bacically US and Brit fighters covering a small fleet of ships, Germans to attack, if anyone wants to try them out just mail me. and Rattler, I'd love to try out yours.

Last thing.. Thanks for the help on placing aircraft on CVs guys.. that'll come in very handy now :-)
