In general, when books give the length of a plane, do they mean starting from the prop spinner or starting from the fuselage? In other words, is the prop spinner considered part of the length of the AC?

JT,

The spinner is included in the length.

A side note, on the first flying C-5 it had a huge pitot tube probe sticking way out front. It was included in the overall length of the plane. Well now it's not part of the length, BUT in all the Tech Orders that probe was figured in calculating all the fuselage stations, so 0 is WAY out in front of the nose.
