Hallo Pete agree with you, the plans for
this aircraft was for the pilot to fly
to target position aim and then bail out.
As they knew that there would not be much chance of survival with the pulse jet
directly above canopy they were working
on a downward ejector seat through a hatch
under cockpit. The first successful test
flight after many crashes was by Hanna Reitsch at Rechlin.

Did you guys ever see that carrier deck footage of the guy getting sucked into an Intruder intake? I think I saw it on one of those Fox "amazing videos" type of shows. Anyway, the guy survived; one of the buckles, or something, on his jacket got caught and anchored him with his head inches away from the blades.

JT,

Yeah, I saw that. Pretty amazing. Me and my friends had a couple of laughs about that. (Yeah, I know we've got a sick sense of humour)

What happened was his helmet and gloves got sucked into the intake before he did. The helmet hit the compressor blades shearing all of them off. This is what saved his life.
That guy is the most lucky person in the world!

Cool Panzer. The guy looks really small in there. I think the V-1's were not very large.

The japanese had one also but with no parachute.

Yes, not very far off from the Japanese
Baka bomb.
Baka was what the Americans called it, baka
was the Japanese word for fool.
Piloted missile (no bail out)
Alot of times dropped out of Betty bombers.
