Mad Dog here.... Alright boys, I just got the green light from my editor to do a massive feature article about SDOE for ign.com. I think this will be a great way to spread to the masses the crazyness we know as SDOE! I want to highlight every damn thing that seperates SDOE from other games, especially the user-made stuff.
I'm looking for alot of screenshots of usermade planes, maybe in different parts of development, or even just screens that look REALLY sweet! Info would also be helpfull, but I'm pretty familiar with almost all that goes on around here, so if you have anything that you think should be included, e-mail me at jefshoults@hotmail.com. I would like to have it finished in about a week, and I'm really hoping to stir up some intrest from all the folks who bashed it a year ago. SDOE deserves another look and I want to spin some heads and blow some minds. ------------------ -Seperated and independant halves of a genius super-organism who believe that no game will ever satisfy them completely.

I'll try and get some shots of the various versions of the 109 in development. The 109K-4 currently has blue-prints mapped over it and looks particularly cool. I'll also pass on some shots of the Emil skins as they are particularly nice. Maybe also a few snow shots of the Fw190. ------------------ Yardstick painted this

Might be handy to include a link to where they can buy it as well. A very cursory search finds nowhere to get it.IP: Logged |

What is going to be the emphasis of the article? The open plane, the flight model or what?People are starting to preceive SDOE as a tinkers dream which may not be where you want to go. ------------------ Kopper Fortunae Nihil (Nothing to Chance) OPPs Making SDOE a Dangerous place. When's the deadline? I'd like to submit some images of the Panzer VII, but if possible once it has been retextured.Werner ------------------ Do you support SDOE online? Email Werner to be listed in SDOE's online phonebook today! IP: Logged |

kopper's point is a valid one. There are a lot more flyers out there than builders. Some of Jeeve's mission shots should appeal to both crowds.IP: Logged |

Spanky here... K first of all, Yardstick me and mad dog are 2 diffrent people. Thats why u see a spanky at the top of the message or a mad dog. Kopper and Jerry. The artical will focus on everything, Not just the cool add ons and openplane. Mad dog (the one who is writing this artical) doesn't tinker. He will talk about the improvements, how fun the online is, The community, and openplane and alot more. Last one about screen shots. Send BMPs to jefshoults@hotmail.com and make sure you took the shot with everything cranked. That would be better so we can size and change it to the required file type and compression level and image quality. IP: Logged |

Mad Dog here... I agree that there are alot more flyers than tinkerers, and I belong with the flyers, but we must all admit that without the amazing work of the people who make planes, and the inherant ability of the program to do so, this sim wouldn't be flown any more than Chuck Yeager's Air Combat. Don't worry, I want to write an acticle that exposes SDOE from all sides. Top to bottom. ------------------ -Seperated and independant halves of a genius super-organism who believe that no game will ever satisfy them completely.

Quick aside here - Jeeves, where did you get that skin for the Ju88? I have something like two downloaded that are truely distinctive. As you can imagine, the Ju88 is not the subject of many of my screenshots.Werner ------------------ Do you support SDOE online? Email Werner to be listed in SDOE's online phonebook today! Heya Werner-The skin is for the G-7 Nightfighter and can be found I believe at the Hangar (FSHangar.com) in the schemes section. If it's not there, then the only other plave I get my skins is from the Warpaint Factory (Zoy's site)! IP: Logged |
