Got cash from my mother - to be used for a CR-ROM Burner (CD-RW) which will be ordered this upcoming week while I am off work. Also my kids got me Jane's USAF, which although not a hard core simulation, it has been a ball flying the demo. The graphics are great. I'm looking forward to flying the A-10 which I am still burned up about Jane's cancelling the A-10 Warthog simulation as it is my favorite aircraft to move mud in. Of course just before Christmas I had upgraded my AGP card to a ge-Force-256 nVidia 32 MB and added a second PCI Diamond Monster 3D II 12 MB card. Now my video is up to there highest levels for both D3D, Open GL, and Glide (Voodoo). The dual DM3D IIs operate in SLI and equal a Voodoo III 16 MB card. Does this count??? ------------------

New monitor here. 17" seems pretty standard, but that's what I'm up to now. Just couldn't see a 19" on my tiny desk. Pang IP: Logged |

You should really consider a 17" or a 19". That extra screen space really changes the way you use a computer.IP: Logged |

But I did get a nice GERMAN 1/32 scale Huey (It's like 16 inches long! ), I have no idea where my mother found this German model at. Then today I went to a local model store that was having a huge Boxing Day sale and bought a 1/35 scale Super Cobra and a 1/35 scale Kiowa.........Won't be doing much OP for a little while Well thats the extent of my Christmas.... ohhh almost forgot the Homer simpson tree decoration I got (That guy is awsome!). Now you all be carefull of Y2K! Unplugg all your toasters so they don't blow up! :Þ ------------------ Cheers! Jaguar www.fshangar.com IP: Logged |

Well, no computer loot but I did do quite well this year -$1600 worth of SCUBA equipment from my entire family!! I just got certified as a diver about 3 weeks ago - and let me tell you, the water in Monterey Bay in December is not what you might call warm!! Anyhow, just thought I'd share.. Stark BTW - If you've never dived, I highly recommend looking uo your local diveshop and inquiring about an Experience-Scuba dive. It's a hand-held guided dive on full SCUBA - usually costs about $10-20 and is an amazing experience!! IP: Logged |

Got a 19' monitor. Its kinda interesting to see some of the flight sims in high res. Fighter squadron will go to 1800 x 1300 or there abouts but gets only about 30 fps--looks absolutely gorgeous tho. Janes USAF looks stunning in 1600 x 1200 any higher and it gets single digit fps. A bigger screen seems to give an increased "periferal vision" impression. Playing back the Mig Alley recorded missions in Monocrome is awesome. IP: Logged |
