Hi hunters,I am new with FSSDOE and got yesterday my internet account. I am not a (not now - hope to change that) a good sim pilot and need much training. Wanted to know how I can fly online to learn it the hard way - perhaps you can use a target to which you give time by time so tips and hints. Have already some offline experience but not much. Would be great to see some answers. Thanks. Wish you all many new kill markings for your planes. ------------------ Michael the "WildeSau" IP: Logged |

The best advice I can give you is to just jump right in and have fun. Granted, I haven't been on-line in a long time, but when I was these guys were the greatest. They were very helpful and supportive. Don't be afraid to join a game, or to host a game. These guys will walk you through the whole process. As far as tactics ... Don't ask me. I get shot down all the time. IP: Logged |

Mad Dog here.... Welcome to the crazy, zany, sometimes infuriating world of SDOE!! Yeah man, just jump right in dude! I had been playing the game for quite a while offline and thought I was a pretty good pilot. Then I went online and got my ass handed to me on a platter!! Only now am I feeling that I'm even coming close to a passable pilot, but by no means good . Online is the only way to get better man, and it's a hell-of-a-lotta fun too! BTW, watch out for Tailslide....he cheats...I'm sure of it!! ------------------ -Seperated and independant halves of a genius super-organism who believe that no game will ever satisfy them completely.

Hi hunters,Thanks for the feedback. My problem is that I don't know how to get online with FSSDOE? Any internet address or something like that available. Or is it more than just typing an address as it's for WWII Fighers? Hope to see you soon in the virtual sky. ------------------ Michael the "WildeSau" IP: Logged |

Hi Spanky,Thanks for these information. Will try it - perhaps over the weekend. What's the advantage of joining the ICQ list? Sorry for these stupid questions but I am really a newbie - on the internet and therefore also on the online flight sim side. Wish you and all others relaxing and merry Christmas. Greetings from Switzerland.

WildeSau....pardon me if I read your question wrong, but is it how to get to the online games you wish to know??If so....first, log on to your internet account. Second, boot up SDOE as you would normally; select your pilot, just like offline; then choose 'Network'. This takes you to a screen that gives you 3 choices....choose 'Internet'. Next screen you select your server ( usually california12 ), then next screen select your lobby...usually fighter squadron 1.5. That's it...you're ready to go. Good luck, and hope to see ya there..

Spanky here..nealg thats all said on the page i directed him too. the online standard DOC on www.fightersquadron.com WildeSau K I take it you never used ICQ before? Its a little app thats on when you online (unless you turn it off) and it lets you know who on your list is online and lets them know that your online. Then you can send messages, chat, or send files. When you install it and then join the SDOE icq active list you will be connected to 146 other people and then they can ask if you want to join a game or you can ask them.
That page I directed you to above explains it much better then this. www.thot.net/~verge/sdoe.htm nealg When you had troubles gettting on the list where you in invisible mode? Some one else had that problem and they were in Invisible. Maybe you just have to be online and then you can switch to invisilble after.
just a thought

Spanky - As a matter of fact, I was! Maybe that was it...thanks, I'l re check. Of course, I always kept ICQ in invisible mode, but it may have acted like a time bomb and after a while....Ka-Boom. Appreciate your taking the time to consider my problem,,,WildeSau, he is right about ICQ Active List; if you have the space and resources, by all means give it a shot. ------------------ nealg=FC= IP: Logged |

Spanky! That apparently was it; I am back on ActiveList!! ICQ needs to identify that problem and give it in a warning message instead of just leaving one hanging, huh??Thanks for the help!! It was a nice Christmas present! ------------------ nealg=FC= IP: Logged |

Spanky here... Thats cool man i have icq 2000a and i think it may have some more work on the active list but i havn't backed up my list and tried installing it. I also wish you could set your name on the active list seperatly from your normal one That way people can use their normal icq handle for their regular list. and their flying handle and squad name for the active list.
