In the Projects forum Razer747 said he has whipped together new countries to put the Zero and Yak in, but he doesn't have any of the sounds to go with them. Does anyone have access to the equipment necessary to digitize sound? Does anyone know anyone that could provide the sound bites? MH - How did you go about getting the British, German and American clips for the release? Do you have any contacts that would be willing to help?

Also, if this fails, can anyone who has this equipment at least FAKE a good accent?

Please send Razer747 your comments on this one...

Well, I learned Russian at school for a good few years (who didn't in those good old commie days, brrrrr ), haven't spoken with any natives for years, though.
I still have a few dictionaries around, including a technical one, but aviators' calls is a different matter I think, one needs to be inside of it all , unfortunately. I myself never flew _on_ or in a Russian-crewed plane so my knowledge of this subject is null, I'm afraid. On the other hand, knowing their skimpy usage of the aerial tactics the language employed in the air would be limited to those sighs, yells and moans, they are rather international .
Anyways, I'll ask around if anybody knows anybody... Meanwhile, what exactly is needed? I could record and digitize the stuff I know myself and then give it to some native speaker to authorize it.

Cheers

lfbpro - Aircraft sounds are always great, but what we're looking for is pilot sounds. Can you record a Russian saying things like 'Bogies at 12 o'clock high!' like in the game?

Poniat - All that is required is to translate the same clips the english pilots say (and for that matter, the german ones too) into Russian, so for example "Bogies at 7 o'clock low" and "Bandits at 5 o'clock high". Not much to it. Do you have the audio equipment though? If not, what city/town do you live in? (There may be someone who does that lives near you).

I am a Japanese(hence I am a native speaker), and quite a beginner for open plane stuff.
I am not sure how I will be enthusiastic about open plane in the future. Therefore, you should regard me as a last resort :-) But you can ask me if you find no one speaking Japanese.

BTW, I am tweaking ki-84 model by using AC3D and having a lot of fun! I would appreciate if someone could tell me where I can find cool tutorial for open plane. Especially, I can not understand how to texture in AC3D. Thanks.

shto?

I could probably record it as a last resort. My girlfriend was born and raised in Baku. She could atleast beat it into me until it sounded close to native. haha only as last resort. She makes fun of my pitiful attempts to rid the accent.
