Man the total lack of people flying online is getting very old. With all the people who have this game (and it is a game, not a lab project) we should have Cal12 full in both lobby's. Instead we have two or three, maybe five. This sucks. I mean it really sucks!!
I saw that Tailslide posted something like this post but I didn't want this to get lost in the shuffle.
The game is great, new planes are great, but not flying stinks. Bitchin about the desktop crashes is getting old too. Suck it up, boot it up, and get out there!
We hardly have a net presence at all. GRRRR, Im just pissed at the lot of you. Nothing personal, but take it as you will.
If you don't want fly what the hell do have the game for huh?Come on, get some!!! ------------------

I agree with you Propwash. Temporarily, I can only get online on weekends. Yet, it seems the only night I can find anyone is Friday's which sucks. Saturday during the day no one is on.

I live in North Carolina, I get off work around 4:00 to 5:00 and get home around 40 min later. I would like to fly soon after this but no one is flying that early. I can not fly past 9:00pm because I get up around 4:00am! Weekends are open to any time if I hadn't made plans to play another game. So if this sounds good to you, you know how to contact me.

See, this is what I mean. I can't even get a response from the majority of you people. How do you expect this simm to get bigger and better if you don't fly online? Its hard to understand just what the problem is with all of you.
If your gonna whine about crashing and mismatches then thats all your gonna do because with the constant change of the simm. Some are going to be left behind. So deal with it! Stop waiting for MH to fix all of your problems. Slip out of those dresses and put on some pants for God sakes.Im mad as hell and im not going to take it any more!! Come and get it!!! ------------------

There are way too many distractions going out out there which have lead to the reduction in on-line fighters:The switching of this forum twice in the last few months. The Holidays OPP Workgroups The Contest Other Simulations - ah yes, I know it is hard to believe but there are a whole world of other simulations to spend time with. The new patch for Falcon 4.0 has increased interest, Flanker 2, Jane's USAF, and the soon to be released Jane's F/A-18 along with DIs Super Hornet to name a few. On-line you have betas of Battle of Britain, Aces High, and Flying Circus along with Air Warrior III, WarBirds, and Dawn of Aces. Family and friends It's a shame but it is true. It all adds up! ------------------

I'd love to fly online but, Christmas, going away for the Holidays, it all takes up a lot of time. However come 2000 and the dead of winter sets in, then I'll have time I better have time, I spent $$ upgrading so I could.------------------

I am currently working incredibly long hours at work. Thats the life of a retail manager this time of year. I hope to let you shoot me down after Christmas Propwash.  Mposis, The contest has not "killed" SDOE online. It may have redirected some players time into Open Plane creations for now, but you would have to be very short sited if you didn't realize the contest has the potential to bring more people to SDOE! Once the word is spread, and the new creations start rolling out...watch out. AS always, it's just my opinion.

The Bad Ass Bulldogs will have some pilots in the virtual air tonight. Thursdays are our squad nights and we usually have at least five pilots on-line.You better be there Propwash ------------------

Well, I'll toss in my two cents on the multiplayer thing.It's almost midnight and I've invested another fifteen or twenty minutes TRYING to get into a game. I failed. Perhaps if I'd waited another five minutes or so something would have come up. Unfortunately, I have better things to do. Not that I wouldn't LOVE to have flown against someone. Hell, the aircraft are so nice to look at that I don't mind just punching F5 and watching the show, which is what I usually end up doing rather quickly anyhow....as most of you probably know. Anyway, my point is this, Multiplayer in SDOE has been a frustrating endevour. It's not just a matter of dialing up, plugging in and giving it a go. You have to wait around for awhile and even then, if you crash or die quickly, the game is over and another won't start for AT LEAST five to ten minutes. Hey, when it works it's great, and like I said the show is worth watching. However, it's the WAITING game that just turns me off. I only have time for two or three games a day/night....and that's if I'm lucky. Usually when I have twenty mikes to play, there's no one around. When I finally FIND someone to play...I run out of time and have to bail. Latley, I havent even bothered cause so often it just turns out to be a waste of time, just like tonight turned out to be. For me, it gets worse, when I go back to work next week, the late night games are out and I NEVER see anyone on here during the day....so I guess I won't be playing at all. Boo hoo. I'm really just venting cause this topic caught my eye and I've had these gripes swimming around in my head for awhile. I don't know what the answer is. I suppose the real problem is that there aren't enough people on line....that IS the topic after all. Hmmm....perhaps what I'll do is, whenever I'm on the net I'll log onto SDOE, minimize the game with Alt-Enter and post my ICQ number....nah, that means the girlfriend will know I'm online and bug me constantly. Guess I'll just log on to SDOE, shrink it, and check every once in awhile for games. If everyone did this then there'd be some numbers shown in the game lobbies to people looking at the SDOE server listings...which will draw them in. Even if I don't have time to play...maybee some of the...suckers/customers/players, who are drawn into the lobby cause they saw me in there will be able to play a game....and experience the THRILL of online aerial combat SDOE style!! Spanky here... Yeah i here ya squeehee. I just had a thought, how cool would it be to have a favorite server. you just click on network then internet and your right in the cali 12 lobby. Not much but i would love to see that added.

You hit the nail on the head Squee, we used to have the "critical mass" of players so you could log on every evening and find a game right away. Now you have to hang around awhile to join a game. With the new 5.3 plane pack and "the patch" coming out in the next couple weeks I hope the lull is temporary. It'd be great if someone organized more events like that tourney we had. Lobby full with 32 people what a sight. In fighter ace they had different events every night. One night would be "fox hunt" where one guy is the fox and everyone tries to hunt him down.. hmm.. fox hunt .. hitler hunt..
Any other ideas? Archy's pearl harbour was great.. he came up with a cool mission, announced the time and we all show up and fly no waiting. I'd really like to see more creative online missions like that its a great break from dogfighting. TS

Cali 12 server. 1.5 patch and 5.2 pp. remember when people are in a game you can't see them. there was at least 12 people on at one point and ussally 6 or more the whole night I played from 9 or so until 2 in the morning eastern standard time.

Unless your slithering in under an alias. Could it be that you didn't want expose your six to our 50 cals. It was the best online night in a long time and you missed it. I think.------------------

I flew last night. The first time since October and was very pleased to find people up to fly with. Almost the same group that was always up the last time I played. Thanks guys I had a great time. And I didnt see Propwash either.------------------

We had three squaddies there - plus most of the usual were flying. Someone give propwash the link to the servers so he can tell when someone is flying.------------------
