I see most everyone is still here. :-)

I just re-installed SDOE including the latest 1.5 patch. I remember there were a lot of little tweaks to do in the ini file, but I don't remember what they are.

Anyway, I would like a summary of all the essential Tweaks and Patches I should know about to get everything up to par.

I noticed the latest patch fixes a lot of things that needed to be. Besides the tweaks, I have one specific question and that is: is there now a way to turn off the prop animation?

My system: P-2 400, SCSI, SE440BX, 256 RAM, Viper 550 AGP, (1) Diamond Monster Voodoo II (12)meg, PCI eathernet for DSL.

Thanks in advance.

Salut!

Hey, Hawker! So this is where you've been hiding all this time. Good to see ya, and I see nealg and ArchAngel are still here too.

Hope to be flying with everyone soon, once I get back up to speed with flying these huge metal contraptions that only have one lower wing and all these guns and switches and buttons everywhere.

Salut!

Hi RoadToad

That's what brought me back here. Private Roger posted something on CombatSim.com showing screenshots of WW1 crates created in Open Plane.

I took I-82 back to the store. I've only returned two games in my life, out of hundreds. I-82 and Nations.

Salut!

Yeah, it was the "lack" (hehe) of support by "LackaVision" for SDOE that got me forever pissed at them too.

Shortly after SDOE was released I went to E-3. LackaVision's booth took up a lot of real estate at the show, I think it was the biggest. I went to their booth hoping to meet and chat a bit with Michael Harrison, Eric Parker, and some of the other SDOE gang.

Although SDOE had just been released, there was no trace of the game at the LackaVision booth; in fact, no one there seemed to even acknowledge its existence.

So I went looking for my second objective, I-82. Not only did I realize something was very wrong about SDOE, I also realized something very wrong with I-82.

One side of their massive booth was devoted to "Vigilante 8" having a real full size bus, demos playing on a 1/2 dozen monitors, and lots of booth babes and actors in costumes running around promoting it.

On the other side of the isle was a huge arena full of Quake III monitors with hundreds of gamers trampling each other trying to get as close as they could.

Off in some forgotten corner was one monitor showing I-82 with no one around it. (I had to actually ask a booth babe if they were showing I-82 here). I tried playing it a little but was having trouble. Another booth babe came around and kept saying that the reason it looked so bad was that it was only in it's early development stage and that the finished product would look and work much better. (I fell for it too).

Anyway, my point is I agree.

Salut!
