Thanks Razer, I have come across lots of these RML charts but the problem is they seem to have such enormous variation. Take the yellow for instance there seem to be 2 RML standard yellows, one school bus orangy/yellow the other more a lighter lemon yellow. And that's just the official colours. JG54 in particular experimented with different non-standard schemes including captured Russian paint.

So in the end you have to make a judgement call based on the available evidence. If I have a choice between two alternatives I usually go for the more aesthetic option.
