That old chestnut again

Michael is there any chance that you could post the correctly mapped aircraft sm files please. At the very least I would like to see the Fw190A-4 fixed and I'm sure I am not alone in this. I find it rather depressing, that having spent nigh on 100 hrs creating 20+ paint schemes, that the right hand side of the aircraft is still mirroring the left (as well as a couple of other less serious errors).

I can live with this in EAW but SDOE a far superior animal. You mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the correct files were finished and you only had to post them. With the deadline approaching for Planepack 5.3 it would be nice to get at least the most serious mapping errors fixed for 5.3

Short answer is yes. I have a large number of nice 56th FG schemes that I would like to do (I'll steer clear of those uncouth 9th AAF paint jobs though - no taste the 9th). Truth be told I'm looking forward to the razorback version more than the Superbolt.

However not to be diverted of the purpose of this post, I would actually like to see finished what was started so many months ago before we get anything new. I would do this myself but I have concentrated my efforts elsewhere and I don't think I have the ability to catch up now.

Back to the top, because I am doggedly persistent and don't really want to have to go out and buy AC3D and do it myself if the actual work has been done

I believe the texture mapping thing will be coming out with the PP5.3.

Talk about catching up. With new mapping I may have to redo my current skins. Hmm thats huge task. I havnt done any lately skins as I to have been waiting for the new mapping. And if I have to fix the exsisting skins it may be awhile beforre I can do any new skins

Will the Dora be fixed?? Will the SpitIX tail be fixed, will both Spits have a left and right texture for the wings, will the B17 be fixed. I have been wanting to do "Bit o Lace" but the mapping makes it a waste to do that skin. And Yes the 190 A-4 needs some help too. While I'am at it the Mossie could use some help on the engine housing. Should be done like the B17.

Theres more, but I have to go.

Yard, yes the fixed mapping is out. Michael sent me the new SM files with all the fixed mapping, only problem are, these planes are Factory CD planes, with no FM or DM changes. So they will need to be converted before they can be released. i'm going to try to convert the Mustang to my new version and if someone will send me the latest 190 i'll change it for you.

Razer, I don't understand what the problem is. Texture mapping is only defined in the LODs, and these have nothing to do with FM. So why can't you just use the 5.3 ASC, put the corrected LODs that MH sent you, and rebuild? I must be missing something here.

(of course, it is more complicated if texture indexes have changed).

Anyway, if it is as simple as above, many people could help (including me)

Razor, I would love to be involved. I have recently redone all my 190s so I would like to QA everything before it goes out - particularly the Fw190A-4.

This sounds great.

I have now done 5 Emil skins and they are all absolute crackers. there are some really interesting schemes for the early 109s.
