Would it be possible to bundle up user-created planes for use in the openplane demo?

I assume if we wanted to show off a plane to the rest of the community that we could package it up in the demo's par file as the biplane.

Theres no way they could fly more than one plane so it really couldnt hurt SDOE, just benefit by letting the others see the potential.

Any thoughts?

That sounds like a pretty good idea

a good way to get more people into the game and they won't have to buy it first

What do you think MH? it could show prospective backers a better look at whats possible also

Great idea, Falck. I think there is a lot of new interest in SDOE. The "closed plane" sims that came out before SDOE are getting old now and the new ones-- the ones that didn't get canceled, that is-- are proving to be dogs. Consequently, I think a lot of folks are giving SDOE a second chance.
You know I remember making a post about this a long, long time ago. I remember predicting that while the new sims roll in with their new set of problems, SDOE would have had time to evolve and get better.... thanks to Openplane. I think that's exactly what's happening. I see more and more evidence of that when I read some of the posts people are making.
Anyway, I'm rambling, but I feel a lot of renewed energy here lately.

I think that's a pretty cool idea.

The demo follows the same general rules as FS where file placement and structure goes.

can we do this anytime soon?

shouldn't be too hard right?
maybe use the zero and the p38?
oh yeah it needs to be user created stuff right? hmm i can't think off hand of a allied plane what is there?
can we make is so you can fly either one?
even a batch file that changes the mission would be good enough

that could get way more people into it
or maybe 2 versions

one as above and one with the se5a and the new fokker?

that way we can have one for the new ww1 people coming into this sim and one for the ww2 people

it would be great to have this ready before i do my monster post on some forums to drum up new people

Well, I would suggest the bf109g-6 - the only 100% user made aircraft (3DO, cockpit, texture mapping and FM) and the Spitfire IX with JT cockpit. Apart from everything else there are a pretty good match for each other with the current beta FMs (although the IX quite rightly has the edge).
