It is ready to send off to be downloaded, But it is Big (5 meg) There are 10 missions with printable Flight Plans and Maps. The problem is that the Maps are saved in the documents as Bitmap files so they are about 500 k each.

Will this be a problem or I could save the maps in a different file as jpg and get the download to about 2 meg.

I can send it tonight(5 meg) or break it down and send it (2 meg) next week.

What do you say.

Is that a zip file? If not you should save alot of space if you zip it.

How about converting the images to jpg or something more efficient (even acrobat files).

Put it up with jpg's please. Depending on the type of bitmaps you can wind up with yor compressed file being 80 -90 % of the original size if all you do is zip it. (Athough some formats compress well, none of them match the size reduction you get when you jpeg them)

Also, depending on whether the quality value counts up or down, using a value of 15 or 85 gives good compression with no visually noticeable loss in quality.

Thanks guys, I went ahead and split up the Flight Plans and Maps. I saved the Maps in jpeg. I just hate that you will have to open two files (One in Flight Plan and one in Maps) to get the mission Information. But that beats downloading 5 megs.

BTW you do not have to have the map to use the Flight Plan. You could just look at it to picture your waypoints and not print it.

To make it fun, in some missions there are no waypoints in the game (only in the Flight Plan) You have to use your Flight Plan to see where you are going.

I zipped it up and it is 2.08 megs. I will send it over to Lector and let you know when it is ready for D/L

Thank you for posting it Lector.

B-17 Campaign is a 10 mission pack with printable Flight Plans and Maps for each mission. It is not historically accurate and was designed for use Offline.

It will add the following;

B-17 Campaign folder and 10 missions to the Missions folder
Flight Plans and Maps to the B-17 Campaign folder
B-17.sm (improved Damage Model - Whirlwinds ver. 2) and sound to the Aircraft folder.
Joe Young (Pilot for the Campaign) to the Pilotstats folder
Firetruck to the Vehicles folder (does not do anything - just for looks)

If you have any questions please contact me at jamjr@zeus.chapel1.com

I hope you enjoy the B-17 Campaign

Raider

Thanks Raider,
Nice job. I don't usualy fly bombers but I am really enjoying the missions and the setup. I like using a hard copy of the flight plans and the mission maps.
Well done,

Thanks Gunner, It would be great if we could just click an Icon in the game and have it Print out the Briefing, a Flight Plan and a Map. Who knows maybe someday.

Sp@nky, Hum I don't know why the AI are not bombing in all missions. They do in some but not others. I have flown these missions at least 10 times and they worked before. I will see what I can do.

I downloaded the file and installed it so I would have the same setup as you. I flew the missions again. The DM on the B-17 does not seem to be the same either. Before at least every other mission I would have at least one engine in flames. Now nothing. I am counting on the new plane pac to improve the DM of the B-17. If not I will work on it.

What mission are you on. I flew 11-13-42 and it figures...it was Friday the 13th and I did not put enough gas in the plane. I usually put in 2000lbs, not today only 500lbs. I was able to drop my bombs but then ran out of gas on the way home. Doh.

i was on the first actually mission

the one after you land at your new airport

i was thinking what if i pick one of the guns on the shore battery and target it
and then tell my wingmen to attack my target?
