If it were structured better it might be worth doing. I would hate to think the future of the fm is decided in this way.

i have asked for help on a number of occasions with designing a much better and deeper web survey i have asked everyone and especially the people who complained about it but guess what? NO ONE FUCKING WANTED TO HELP IF U THINK U CAN DO A BETTER JOB GO FUCKING DO IT i said in my origanal post that i put it together in 5 minutes just to kinda see what people wanted this is not my job so i won't dedicate hours to making a damm web poll
i would hate to see the future of the FM decided for us!

Don't take it personal Spanky! We do appreciate your efforts, however some of us could be a little less eager to criticize rather than suggesting solutions. All of you that have been in that boat: MH, Kopper, Tailslide, Spanky and others deserve a pat on the back for your efforts rather than critical analysis. do what u want with the fm i will probly fly it anyway cause its all we will have it wouldn't matter anyway i could design one but people would just say it wasn't done right like i get paid for this crap or somthing "If it were structured better it might be worth doing" that is an attack at me cause i put the poll up just because its not well structured doesn't mean its not usefull for u to post like i said

Alright people...that poll was meant to feel out the general public and find out where they stood. Remember that not all of us playing are familiar with the terms and stuff involved. Also, it wasn't meant to be the be all end all final decision for the future of SDOE, it was merely a curiosity based, preliminary poll put out by Spanky and Spanky alone. Alright everybody, group hug, come on! Group hug.Everyone needs to relax a little. Hold it, let me check. Nope, we are not in Flame Wars.
Opinions are opinions and action speak louder than words. One way to get the ball rolling on an idea is to start doing it. Don't wait for anyone's permissions. If people like it, it will catch on. I asked a question about the FM and got some response. Spanky put up a poll and the last time I checked over 120 people had voted. Pretty darn good. It looks like if you want to get the pulse put up a fast poll. We would never have found that out if Spanky didn't have the balls to do it. Shit happens here and will continue to happen. It's just a game, but what a game! So relax. I used to get pretty steamed at the comments some people made either at me or something else going on. I don't anymore. I remember way back in the early days, the summer of '99, when we were young and full of piss and vinegar when my battle cry was 'release the source.' Many people thought I was nuts and would stomp on me because of it. They called it a 'dead horse' and said 'it would never happen.' It took longer than I liked, but who cares, soon we will have 'semi-open source.' How do you like them apples, all you nah sayers! So do opinions matter, sometimes. Should we get worked up about it. Nawh! It's not worth it. We know all the problems with the sim. We know there is still a great deal of work. We know all the issues. We have heard them all many times over. It's about time we start doing and stop heckling. On the positive, I have never seen so many people doing Open plane stuff. It has just exploded. The OPPs guys are concentrating there efforts in 3 areas now: FM's, DM's and bigger maps. One reason we got this focus was Spanky put up a quick poll for the OPPs guys. These were the 3 major areas. Which ones didn't make the grade: more planes and adding gadgets. These items are fun but they won't fix the fundamental problems. It would be nice if we had more people coordinating their efforts via OPPs. ------------------

it would be kopper but more people would rather complain about whats being done that do anything sorry kop i'm not ready for a group hug

Spanky,I have supported your poll from the start and so have over 120 other people, even Spyder! Just this morning I added a few more names to the OPPs mailing list. There are 45 names now, however not all 45 are active. I think about 25-30 are active. Just for your info, I read everything posted on this forum. I may not reply to everything. If I don't reply, its because it is not an issue for me. ------------------

So checking the poll results I interpret the results this way:36% (51/142) what the exact FM no compromises. I take it this 36% knows what the uncompromising FM is? 54% (25+28+24/142) will take something close to exact. The winner is close for FM's is fine! ------------------

Ofcourse you can never get a totally good FM. We might have to do a bit compromising, only for the game, so planes can at least take off and fly over the next hill, but that's all the compromising we should do. That's what I get out of the poll. First make it perfect, and then change it a bit for the terrain if that's needed.------------------
