Hi Guys, I tried to post in this thread to bump it up again, and to add some recent thouhts, well, my comment posted OK, but it didn't bump it up again, so here's the link, I guess if you have any replies you better post them in this new thread so they don't get missed, Hawk, Werner, anyway you can recover the thread back to an Active topic instead of Archived?I hope you have the time and patience to read my comment on the last page of the linked thread, and then hopefully to re-read the whole.

Interesting to read all that again .... and a little scary. Quite a few names on those posts that I haven't seen around for a while .....Is the the result of no base pack? Jug's comments on the Newbie nights are as valid now as they ever were ... probably more so. How many new pilots have we got? WW1 has picked up a few new guys from our enforced stay over at SimHQ. There are a few other new guys dipping their toes in the water too. HOW LONG WILL THEY STAY ? If they can't fly online without endless vast downloads, why bother. Buy IL2, stick on HD, go fly. The choice is simple: a) Support the basepack b) Come up with a viable alternative and DO IT c) Watch the community fade slowly into oblivion as all the talent that kept us going heads for pastures new. The choice, as they say, is ours ------------------

I wasn't looking to re-open the discusion at all, but I needed to check some old posts and came across that one, it gave me back some of my lacking inspiration Other than that ofcourse, there are some new people around that should realy read through the post to understand the updates that are in the works, and some older members that maybe needed a little reminder of what it's all about, ergo, it's all just for information, there's nothing left to argue about anymore (hell I hope not anyway LOL)IP: Logged | |
