Iīm just working to put the usermade terrains into parfiles to let handle them much more easier then before.
these are the results:
Data30.par = Bavaria
Data31.par = Smolensk
Data32.par = Tobruk
Data33.par = SDOE terrain modification

I can also put Snowydover,Rhinelandwinter and Pacific into parfiles if someone wishes it! If so i need Data34-36 too .
Aehm,i could need a place to ulpoad them

Rends, Could you please put Rhineland Winter into a parfile, pretty please . I have never been able to get that terrain because all that sites that used to host it are down or gave up hosting it. Thanks

unless the new patch fixed the par bug you can't go that high in the numbers.

Sorry Rends, they got reserved along time ago, infact, most parfiles were reserved long before the limit was increased, Bryan raised the limit because I asked him to.

So, below are the current reserved parfiles, and what they are reserved for:

Base Pack:
Par
12 - odd and sods - airfoils, aircraft weapons, pilots ect
13 GB (completed)
14 Germany
15 USA (completed)
16 Russia (completed)
17 Japan (completed)
18 France (completed)
19 Poland
20 Italy
21 Minor Allied
22 Minor Axis
23 Naval Ops
24 Drivable Ground Units (completed)
25 Staic Ground Units
26 SWOTL
27 Korean
28 Modern
29 Racing
30 GB Addon (completed)
31 Germany Addon
32 USA Addon (completed)

33-39 inc. reseved for BP possible later use.

40-49 inc for Nations V3

80-100 Terrains (use any of these!)

Using any other parfiles without consulting could realy cause problems because I'm sure others are already reserved aswell but I can't find the info.

All this was sorted out last August when I talked to Bryan about raising the parfile limit to accomodate the Base Pack and other developements like Nations, WW1 and Terrains.

Guys, if I talked to you about parfiles being reserved and I have listed you above, please post in here what they were.

Cool Rend, any above 80 are fine I don't think we ever posted about the parfile reservations on the FSIC cause I was talking to everyone that used them at the time (Werner, Argon and Diego). A website would be cool for the Base Pack, infact it will realy need a home once we're getting close to a release for sure, so if there are any volunteers to host a page or two just let us know

Tab, I don't think you'll find them in parfile format yet, but the idea is certainly to put them into parfiles, thats the reason I made provision for them aswell as any other new terrains, with the new patch allowing upto 100 parfiles it's been a massive help in now organising everything we have, and everything we will do for some time to come

Again, thankyou Patch Team!

Nat, what's the difference between 13, 21 and 30? What's in these files, just planes (and related items) or also things like the "nations" related info? Where is the terrain?

Hi Maury, ok here's the differences

Par13 has a limited selection of GB aircraft, a "Base" selection, which is "Online Standard"

Par12 has aircraft that don't have own National parfile number, usualy only one or two aircraft made for a certain Allied nation would be put in here, for example, the Rumanian IAR80 I'm working on would go into Minor Axis (Par14) because it isn't an included nation yet, and even if it was, there is only one aircraft. If a country included in one of the Minor parfiles gets enough planes to warrent it's own National parfile, then they would be moved out, and one (or two) of the BP reserved parfiles would be used.

Par30 contains GB aircraft not contained within Par13, Par30 IS NOT online standard, this is an optional Addon Module, the planes in this parfile though are of the same high standard as the Online Standard Par13.

So, in the end, you have alot of options here, you can d/l and instal only the Online Standard Base Pack (OSBP), which will give you a diverse set of aircraft from each Nation without being a monster download thats forever getting bigger and harder to manage. Aircraft in the OSBP NEVER Change! From time to time an aircraft may be added to a Nation to complete its aircraft allocation, but aircraft are never removed, and once each Nation has it's alloted limit THATS IT, no changes to it anymore other than any code or model updates to planes already in it.

New planes built that don't fill in spaces in a countries plane allotment will go into the Addon Modules (like Par30 for GB), they must be of the same standard as the OSBP planes.

In this way, we have a constant Online Standard set of planes, that regardless of anything else everyone should have, and pure OSBP missions will be created and released to accomodate people flying online together with mixed versions, ie if I only have the OSBP and no Addon Modules, but you have the OSBP and all Addon Modules, we can quickly and easily select a mission designed only for OSBP aircraft, afterwards if I like I can go download the Addons to get the extra aircraft available for just one country like GB, or I have the option to download every Addon Module available to have everything.

The benefits of this system are many, but the main ones are:

1: a Fixed Online Standard that has a set size limit.

2: Downloads of updates will be much much smaller than before (eg we add a couple of planes to Germany, you only need to download the updated Germany parfile and not the whole bundle like with the Plane Packs)

3: Organisation of planes and updates for us working on them are much simpler.

4: Bug finding is faster, easier to fix, and smaller for the "Great Majority" to get.

Anyway, I'm sure most of you remember alot of this from the posts we made on it in the past, still, a quick rehash is never a bad thing

~Nat~

If anyone needs more info, here's the important link:

NOTE: The aircraft list in the above thread is old and may have been changed since then, without checking each plane I can't say, but this thread explains all you realy need to know.

heh, I thought about that, and after mailing you that confirmed it, it's not a problem at all, I'll simply move USA to data12.par and odds and sods to data11.par

I'll check that out right noe Ren, thanks for the heads up, the parfiles I have in testing don't go that high yet, so I'll rename one and let you know, then I'll drop a post in the Patch forum about it if I have the same problem.. God I hope not.
